Certified AAPT Professionals

Jenn Castner, LPC-MHSP-S, ACS, NCC, RPT-S, CAAPT

Jenn Castner believes healing happens through the power of relationships, play, and thoughtfully integrated animal assisted interventions. As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider-Supervisor (LPC-MHSP-S), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), and Certified Animal Assisted Play Therapist® (CAAPT), Jenn has spent the past nine years helping children as young as two years old, adolescents, and families navigate life’s challenges. She is especially passionate about treating trauma and has specialized training in complex trauma, attachment, and dissociation.

Jenn provides individualized, evidence-informed care by integrating Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Theraplay®, developmentally adapted Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Animal Assisted Play Therapy®. She believes that children communicate, process experiences, and heal through play, and that secure, attuned relationships provide the foundation for lasting change.

Jenn is joined by Zero, her playful Belgian Malinois – also a certified therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Zero participates in sessions when clinically appropriate and aligned with each client’s treatment goals. Together, Jenn and Zero create engaging therapeutic experiences that foster connection, confidence, emotional growth, and resilience while honoring each child’s unique strengths and developmental needs.

When they’re not in the therapy room, Jenn and Zero enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring hiking trails, running together, and finding new adventures. Their strong partnership outside of work reflects the trust, connection, and teamwork they strive to bring into every therapeutic interaction.
