Erin Olheiser is the owner of Positive Insights, LLC a private practice outside of Madison, WI supporting children and their families. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Practitioner of Animal Assisted Play Therapy™. Erin has worked in the field for nearly 20 years and has worked as part of interdisciplinary teams conducting neurodiagnostic evaluations and supporting children and families with special needs within a large academic medical center as well as serving as a mental health consultant for the state of Wisconsin. In addition, she has worked as a family dog trainer teaching group dog classes, and as an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She opened her private practice in 2018 to combine her passion for working with dogs and children.
Erin has grown up with Dobermans and is dedicated to challenging the breed’s social stigma. Buster has been a great ambassador for the breed and has proudly earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and is an Approved Animal Assisted Play Therapy™ Dog. He has been known to support children through happy tail wagging and demonstrations of his trained skills. He excels in his specialty of a “Doberlean” that supports children’s regulation and has been known to tell a story or two about being misunderstood!!
