Hi Everyone,

It’s your pal Kirrie here again with another installment of Animals Speak! I put up a picture taken of me yesterday, which was my 16th birthday! That’s pretty old for a dog. I still have a lot of fun, and here I was making some noise thinking that maybe someone would give me some treats! I have a little bit of trouble with my back leg, and I have to wear a brace to help me walk. You can see a little bit of the brace near the back part of the picture (upper right). It’s really comfortable, and it allows me to play and also go on long sniffy walks in the back yard. Well, that’s enough about me. We have 3 guests again today, and this time they are all dogs. They have some short messages to give to you! Here goes…

Our first guest is Callie. She lives and works with Mary Rottier. Callie likes going to school and is missing it right now. Fortunately, she is finding ways to adjust to this change going on right now. Remember with any of these ideas to check with your parents or caretakers first! Click on her name to hear what she has to say: Callie.

Next up we have Norm. Norm lives and works with Cyndie Kieffer. Norm is going to tell us about how he used to be afraid of something and how he is doing now. Lots of dogs, just like people get afraid of things sometimes. Usually there are ways to get more comfortable with things, and I think that’s what he is going to tell us.  Click on his name to find out: Norm.

Finally, we have Josie Patches. She is mostly Beagle, and she lives with my family and me, and she works with Risë VanFleet (also known as my typist). She is a little goofy sometimes, but she can be a lot of fun. Just be careful if a piece of food drops on the floor though – you won’t have a chance to get it because Josie Patches will be there in a flash to gobble it up. Josie Patches is going to say something about washing hands and singing happy birthday. She had to wash ALL of her feet today because she went outside and got really muddy! Here she is – just click her name: Josie Patches.

I hope you enjoyed this 4th edition. We’ll be back in a few days for another one! In the meantime, hang in there, do whatever schoolwork or chores you have to do, and remember to play a little every day!

Your pal,
Kirrie
